Sin City, the ultimate breeding ground for corruption, prostitution, murder and plain old violence. A city where honesty and respect play no part in the lives of its citizens. Despite these neatly stacked odds, three reluctant heroes go all out to save the lives of others, even if it means jeopardizing theirs.
All hell breaks loose when a tough street-fighter Marv (Mickey Rourke) sleeps with beautiful Goldie (Jaime King) who ends up dead the next morning despite him sleeping next to her all night. He's framed for her murder and goes on a killing spree to find the truth and avenge her death instead of rescuing himself.
Dwight (Clive Owen) is dragged into yet another mess when he and his friends risk getting onto the bad side of the law when they accidentally kill a cop. The only solution is to dump his body where no cop would ever think to look. But Dwight's been followed by mercenaries hired by Manute (Michael Clarke Duncan) who is determined to foil his plan and expose the crime for his own reasons.
The third hero is a rare honest cop Hartigan (Bruce Willis) who decides to retire with a big bang by arresting and stopping Roark Jr. (Nick Stahl), son of the senator, from raping and killing another girl.
Sin City is a movie adaptation of a comic book by Frank Miller, which accounts for most of the movie being made in black and white with the occasional hues of red or yellow to emphasize its significance. This movie is successful in bringing the comic book to life, not only with it being in black and white, but also with the bloody violence and exaggerated characters without making Sin City seem cartoonish.
